Description

Three houses at 21, 23, and 25 Clough Lane date from 1781 and later. They are built of hammer-dressed stone with a 20th-century tile roof. The buildings have a total of four bays and three storeys, although the house at the left (number 21) is set back and has only two storeys. This left-hand house features a three-light mullion window on its first floor. The central house (number 23), which is older than the others, has six-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows, incorporating a king mullion, on each of its floors. The third house (number 25) has a door to its left and five-light mullion windows of the same design on each floor. The fourth house, entered through a gable porch, mirrors the window arrangement. Small, two-, three-, and four-light windows are found in the gables, and on the rear elevation, alongside two taking-in doors. The roofline is punctuated by ridge chimney stacks.
