Description

Mount Sorrell Farmhouse, along with an adjoining barn and cottage, dates from the late 18th century, with the barn and cottage added in the 19th century. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and feature a graduated stone slate and slate roof. The farmhouse is a three-bay, two-storey structure with a later wing extending to the front right. The barn and cottage are located to the right of the farmhouse.

The farmhouse has a central door with a square-cut surround, a two-light window above, and a blocked taking-in door. The gabled wing projects to the right and features gable chimney stacks. There are two and three-light windows in the gables. The rear of the farmhouse includes a variety of windows: two, three, three, and two-light windows on the ground floor, and five, three, and two-light windows on the first floor. All windows have recessed flat-faced mullions, many of which have been rendered over.

The barn features an elliptical-headed cart entry with an opposed winnowing door, a shippon door to the right, and a small brick extension. The cottage consists of one bay and has a 20th-century casement window on each floor, both with stone lintels and sills, as well as a door with a square-cut door surround.
