Description
No. 6 Delph New Road is a house built around 1816. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a three-bay central-staircase layout with two storeys, and a parallel range has been added to the rear at a later date. The house has a projecting plinth and a central six-panel door that is framed by an archivolt surround with impost capitals and a keystone, along with a fanlight above.
The first and third bays have tripartite sash windows with square-cut surrounds and wedge lintels, while the second bay contains a single sash window. All windows retain their glazing bars. The eaves feature shaped gutter brackets, and there are side-wall chimney stacks. The roof is hipped and topped with ball finials at the peaks. At the rear, there are two arched windows, one of which retains marginal glazing bars, and both have keystones.
