Description
No. 4 on Delph New Road is a house built in 1816, as indicated by the keystone. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The house has a single-depth plan with three bays and two storeys, along with a projecting plinth. The central door is topped with a fanlight and has a square-cut surround with a semi-circular head, along with a dated keystone and impost blocks. The tripartite sash windows in the first and third bays have central 12-pane sashes, square-cut surrounds, and wedge lintels. The second bay on the first floor has a single 12-pane sash window. The eaves are supported by shaped gutter brackets, and the roof is hipped to the right. There are side-wall chimney stacks, while the left gable and part of the rear are rendered. Additionally, there is an arched stair window at the rear and a small lean-to extension.
