Description
This barn and shippon dates to 1735, as indicated by a datestone inscribed "HHMB." It is constructed of hammer-dressed watershot stone, with a roof of graduated stone slates. The building originally comprised three bays, featuring a central cart entry with a semi-circular head and keystone. An outshut, likely acting as a shippon, is located to the left and probably to the right. A 20th-century lean-to extension is present at both the front and rear. The cart entry is distinguished by a semi-circular head with a keystone. The shippon has a doorway to the right, framed by a segmental keystone arch and a datestone above. Two doors are situated within the left gable, above which are three tiers of vents. The rear elevation is obscured. Finials are present, and remnants of finials are visible on the gable apices.
