Description
Nos. 18 and 12A on Sandy Lane is a house and flat dating from the late 18th century, specifically the 1790s. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan with two bays and four storeys. The central door has a square-cut surround, and there is a similar door to the left that is now blocked. The ground floor has two 3-light windows, while each of the other floors has two 4-light windows, all with recessed flat-faced stone mullions. The rear of the building also has similar 3 and 4-light windows, along with a lean-to extension and a flight of stone steps that provide access to the flat. There are gable chimney stacks, one of which has been rebuilt in brick.
