Description
Bridge House is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof, although part of it has been replaced with slate. The building has a U-shaped layout with three bays and three storeys, along with a one-storey wing to the right.
The first bay projects as an outshut and includes three, five, and five-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows, with the top window retaining 12-pane casements. The second bay has a door with a square-cut surround, various mullioned windows, and blocked doors. There is also a flight of external stone cantilevered steps that provide access to what was once a workshop on the second floor. The third bay projects as a gabled wing and features two and three-light windows. The building is topped with ridge chimney stacks and includes four, five, and twelve-light mullion windows, along with an altered window on the ground floor at the rear.
