Description

No. 9 Sugar Lane is a house that dates from before 1770. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and squared rubble, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two bays and stands two storeys high, with a lean-to addition against the right gable. The first bay projects as an outshut and features a square-cut door surround at the angle. On the ground floor, there are two five-light windows, while the first floor has one five-light window (with two lights blocked) and a three-light window. All windows have recessed flat-faced stone mullions. The house has gable chimney stacks, one rendered and one made of brick, and features two-light sash windows in the gable.
