Description

Hillside Cottage is a house dated 1765, as indicated by the datestone marked "WH 1765" (Winterbottom). It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a two-bay, two-storey single-depth plan. The central entrance, which has a dressed surround, is now blocked, and a later door has been inserted to the right. There are a total of three two-light windows and a blocked taking-in door. The datestone on the first floor is decaying and has unreadable initials along with a small moulded hood. At the rear, there are four and five-light double-chamfered cavetto-moulded mullion windows on each floor.
