Description
12 and 12A Fish Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It has a core dating back to the 15th century, while the facade is largely from the early 19th century. The building features painted brick with exposed timbering on the upper storey and a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high with gabled attic dormers, and has a four-window range. To the right, there is a six-panelled door with an overlight, and to the left, there are two wood mullioned and transomed windows with deep segmentally-arched heads. The upper windows are two-light casements, and there is a band of close-studded timbering above these windows. Additionally, there are two wide gabled dormers above. Inside, the remains of the medieval roof structure are said to survive.
