Description
This is a shop, originally built as a pair of dwellings, dating to 1715. It is located in Butcher Row, Shrewsbury. The building is constructed of painted brick with a plain tiled roof. It is three storeys high, with attic dormers, and has a four-window front. Late 20th-century shop fronts have been inserted, but above them are windows with flush-framed mullions and transoms, set within flat-arched brick surrounds. A date stone bearing the initials "S over IE" is positioned between the windows, and the date "1715" is also scratched into a brick. The building has a moulded wood eaves cornice with modillions and an overhanging roof. Gable end stacks are present. Internally, some timber partition walls are visible.
