Description
No. 11 Fish Street is a house that has been converted into a pair of shops. It dates back to the 16th century and features a rendered exterior over a timber frame, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a two-window range. The central door is sheltered by a canopy hood and is flanked by shop windows with small panes. The upper windows are two-light horizontal sliding sashes. There is a stack located towards the rear of the building.
At the back, there is a wing that is occupied separately, showcasing exposed timber-framing that has been partly renewed at the ground floor, with some panel infill replaced by glazing. This area includes a small inserted shop front and a separate doorway, along with a horizontal sliding sash window on the jettied first floor. The framing in the lower gable wall consists of square panelling, long raking braces, and very heavy timbering.
