Description
This building is a barn located 25 meters southeast of Willow Farmhouse. It dates from the early 18th century, with a late 18th-century addition and late 19th-century alterations. The barn is constructed of washed brick and has a corrugated asbestos roof. It has a long rectangular shape with a short perpendicular range at the east end.
The north front is two stories high and has 11 bays. The left end bay projects and features a brick band at the first floor, with ventilation slots and a pitch hole above. There are inserted garage doors on the side. In the center, there is a flight of external steps leading to a door in a gabled dormer. To the left of this door, a brick band at the first floor rises over a cart door, with four other openings that have segmental brick heads. There are also ventilation slots and a pitch hole above these openings. The right side of the steps is similar but lacks the brick band.
Inside, the barn has weak, pegged trusses made of tiebeam and collar, some of which include diagonal struts. The structure features trenched purlins and cleft rafters. Some drive and gearing for belt-driven machinery still remain. The barn is listed for its group value only.
