Description

This mid-19th century milepost is located 25 meters east of the junction with Waste Lane on the south side of Chester Road in Oakmere. It is made of cast iron and features a low, squat design topped with a domed cap. The post has a curving plate that is divided into two sections, with raised letters inscribing the distances to various locations: Kelsall 3 miles, Northwich 6½ miles, Tarvin 5½ miles, Knutsford 13½ miles, Chester 11 miles, and Altrincham 18½ miles.
