Description
The milepost located 45 meters southeast of Kelsall Lodge is an early to mid-19th century turnpike milepost. It is made of cast iron and features a cyma-moulded domed cap that supports a curving iron plate. The plate is divided into two sections, with raised letters inscribing the distances: "CHESTER 9 MILES" and "NORTHWICH KELSALL 1 8 1/2 MILES." Additionally, there is an oval plaque on the post that reads "EDDISBURY S+H M." This milepost is part of a continuous sequence of five mileposts found in the Delamere and Oakmere parishes.
