DELAMERE C.P. CHESTER ROAD SJ 56 NE (North Side) 6/13 Delamere School

School: dated 1846. Ashlar red sandstone. Fishscale purple tile roof and an octagonal stone chimney. T-shaped plan. 1-storey symmetrical 6-bay front. Chamfered plinth. Band at eaves has plain parapet with headed triangular coping whch rises to form gables with tall octagonal finials above the 2nd and 5th bays. These have canted bay windows with mullions and transomes and cinquefoil headed lights. Similar 2-light windows in the remaining bays. At the centre is the date plaque in the parapet and a bellcote on the ridge. 3-light mullioned and transomed windows in stone coped gables. Modern extensions to rear. Interior: open to the roof with moveable screens to allow subdivision.
