Description
The gates and gatepiers to Verdin Park are a pair of double gates and two single gates from the 18th century, featuring wrought iron gates and stone piers. The double gates have square vertical bars that are closely spaced, along with double bottom, lock, and top rails. They are adorned with ornate central panels and a top-hamper that includes floral finials and scrollwork, rising from the piers to the meeting-rail. The side gates resemble the double gates but each has a symmetrical top-hamper. The stone piers are rusticated and tooled, topped with wrought-iron finials. These gates were relocated from Bostock Hall Park.
