Description
Starkey Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located on Nantwich Road in Wrenbury cum Frith. It features a timber frame with rendered infill and a shingle roof, which was formerly thatched. The building has two storeys and an entrance front that consists of 13 x 3 cells of uneven small framing, with 20th-century windows inserted on both floors. The entrance is located at the far left, with additional entrances at the fourth bay from the left and the sixth bay from the right. There are angle braces at the far left and in the center of the facade.
The right gable end displays 6 x 3 cells of uneven small framing, topped with a slightly jettied gable that also features small framing. The gable bressumer is chamfered and has decorative end stops. At the rear of the house, there is a projecting 20th-century porch to the right, and a later 17th-century timber-framed wing in the center, which has been extended again in the 20th century. To the left of this wing are 6 x 3 cells of small framing, which include a 2-light 20th-century window on the ground floor and a similar window on the first floor, along with what may be a 17th-century single-light window to the right of the ground floor.
