Description
Yewtree House is a 17th-century farmhouse located on Whitchurch Road in Newhall. The building is timber framed with rendered infill and is a single storey with an attic. The entrance front features a brick plinth that supports 12 by 2 cells of uneven small framing. There is a 19th-century gabled brick porch, painted to resemble timber framing, positioned to the left of the center, which contains a half-glazed 19th-century door. To the left of the porch is a two-light casement window, while to the right is a rectangular bay window with brick walling, featuring a three-light central casement window and single lights on either side. Above this, there is a lean-to roof, and at the far right, there is another two-light casement window. A gabled former window is located to the right of center, and there is a ridge chimney stack to the left of center.
The right gable end displays four by two cells of small framing with tension braces, and the gable features small framing with wattle and daub infill. The left gable end has a rectangular bay window similar to the one on the entrance front, set within six by two cells of small framing. On the first floor, there is a small-fronted gable with a two-light window at the center. At the rear, there is a projecting gabled wing.
