Farm Building 40 Metres North Of Bache House Farmhouse

This is a farm building known as a shippon with a hay loft, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of 11 bays.

At the center, there is a three-bay-wide projecting entrance that contains tall boarded double doors on strap hinges, which are set in an elliptical arched opening. These doors are flanked by smaller boarded doors in segmental arched openings. The four bays on either side of the entrance originally had similar doors, but only two remain on each side.

At the shippon level, there are hopper light windows with glazing bars, while at the loft level, there are rectangular pitch holes with flat stone sills, segmental heads, and boarded doors on strap hinges. Two pitch holes on each side are now blocked, and there is an additional blocked pitch hole above the main entrance arch. Breather holes in an "X" pattern are present in the spaces between the pitch holes.
