Description
This farm building, located north of Hillside Farmhouse, dates from around 1870 and is designed as a shippon. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and consists of five bays, with a three-bay return on the south side. A stone plinth supports the structure. The doors are full-length and half-heck boarded, equipped with stone hinge and latch blocks. Windows are fitted with cast iron lattice casements and hopper lights, all having stone sills, while the doors and windows are topped with stone heads. There are round pitch holes with stone sills as well. A notable feature is the three-course deep projecting band at the first floor level on the west gable, with the middle course being cogged. The west gable is timbered, showcasing shaped purlins and a finial. This building is listed for its group value only.
