Description

Hillside Farm House is a circa 1870 farmhouse constructed as part of the Peckforton Estate. The building is of red brick in English Garden Wall Bond, with a tile roof. It is a single-storey and attic structure with a 3-bay main block and a 3-bay return (north) creating an "L" shaped plan. A boarded door is positioned centrally, featuring false strap hinges and a deep stone lintel. The windows are 1-to-3-light cast-iron lattice windows, set within stone sills and deep stone heads. First-floor windows are located in gables, alongside gabled dormers with timbered apexes and finials. Divided flues are present, evident by projecting caps rising from weathered stone ridge level bands.
