Description
The Gap is a cottage dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from whitened stone and features a tile roof. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of two bays. The entrance has a ledged and battened door. There are flush two-light casements with glazing bars, with those on the first floor located in gabled half dormers that have timbered apexes. The west gable displays an exposed oak truss with curved principal rafters and has a stack at the gable end. The east gable is made of stone and lacks timbers, suggesting it may be a later addition. Inside, there is an inglenook and exposed beams.
