Description
Manor Farm Cottage and Yew Tree Cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the early 17th century, with later alterations and additions. They feature a brick nogged timber frame and a machine tile roof. The buildings are two storeys high with a three-bay facade, including a gable, and a two-bay return on the north-east side, creating an "L" shaped plan. The south gable is made of red sandstone, and there is a brick plinth at the base. The cottages have small framing with angle braces, ledged and battened doors, and replaced flush casements with glazing bars. The upper windows are located in gables and half dormers, while the rear (east) has cast-iron lattice casements at both levels. Stone stacks with diagonally set divided brick flues are present. Inside, there are original stone ovolo moulded mantels, deep bevelled beams, and exposed ceiling joists.
