Description
Tollemache Cottages are a pair of estate cottages from around 1870, located on the Peckforton Estate. They are built from red brick and have a tiled roof, standing two stories tall with one bay each. The left-hand (west) cottage features a gabled roof. Both cottages have boarded doors set in Tudor-arched openings, which are divided into vertical panels by cover fillets and adorned with false strap hinges. The windows are 2-and-3-light cast-iron hexagonal pane casements, featuring cambered arches at the ground floor. The south-west gable displays shaped purlin ends and a finial. A large central stack rises from the roof, accented by a weathered ridge level band, keeled pilasters, and a heavy overhanging cap.
