Description
Burland Farm House is a farmhouse built around 1870 as part of the Peckforton Estate. It is constructed of red brick in English Garden Wall Bond and features a tile roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a three-bay return on the south-east side that completes an "L" shaped plan. The entrance consists of a half-glazed and boarded door with studs and false strap hinges, which is sheltered by a gabled brick porch. The porch has cast-iron lattice casements on the sides and timber infilling in the gable. The windows are cast-iron hexagonal lozenge casements, ranging from two to four lights, and have segmental arches. The central bay projects and features a gable with St. Andrew's Cross bracing and a finial. Although the chimneys have been altered, one still retains the Tollemache style with individual flues.
