Description

This is a bandstand located near the north boundary of Barnes Park, dating from the late 19th century. It features cast-iron columns and a base made of brick and ashlar, topped with a felt-covered roof. The bandstand has an octagonal base with bull-nosed coping. Slender columns support a ribbed ogee roof, which is adorned with decorative spandrels on a frieze that is set back on brackets from the roof cornice to the columns. A scrolled finial crowns the structure, and the roof is ceiled. The railings have been renewed.
