Description
The bandstand in George Allan Park, Strathaven, is an octagonal structure built in the late 19th century. It stands on a stugged ashlar base with a concrete platform. The bandstand features simple cast-iron columns that are enhanced by decorative angle brackets, supporting a raised octagonal roof. This roof includes a wooden valance and decorative iron cresting positioned centrally on each face. At the top, a central finial is supported by curved decorative cast-iron brackets, and the roof is covered with felt.
