Description
The tombstone of the Foster family is located approximately 42 meters south-west of the cemetery gates in Brotton. This Grade II listed structure commemorates John Foster, his wife, and two children, who died between 1737 and 1768. The tombstone is a rectangular sandstone slab, measuring about 109 centimeters high, 94 centimeters wide, and 19 centimeters deep. It features a chamfered top on the west side and rests on a stone plinth. The east face is inscribed below three winged angel heads, which are flanked by scrolls at the ends.
