Description
The Forster tomb, located 7 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St. Mary, is a table tomb dating from 1800. It is made of sandstone and features a slab with a moulded edge resting on six square legs. The tomb bears an inscription dedicated to George Forster, which states, "in his last Will and Testament he bequeathed £1200 for Educating twenty five children belonging to the poor inhabitants of this Parish for evermore."
