Description

Shepherd's House Farmhouse, along with its outhouse and pigsty, is a house dating from the early 19th century, with a further extension added in the early to mid-19th century. The building is constructed of dressed sandstone and has a clay pantile roof with stone ridge tiles, gable copings, and moulded kneelers. A stone stack with a heavy string and cornice is located at the right end, while a rebuilt brick stack sits at the left end. The original farmhouse has two storeys and two windows, with access gained through the extension. It retains original timber window architraves fitted with late 19th-century sash windows, stone sills and lintels. Other details include a chamfered plinth and a moulded eaves cornice. A single-storey left-hand extension features a mid-20th-century door and window. The outhouse connects to the left side of the extension and incorporates a lean-to pigsty to its left, including a small yard enclosed by a stone wall. This wall incorporates a feeding trough in its south side. The rear of the farmhouse shows a lean-to addition to the staircase wing.
