Description

Rock Farmhouse and the adjacent Estate Office are a house and outbuilding dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, constructed in at least three different phases. The farmhouse features a rendered exterior designed to mimic ashlar stone, while the outbuilding is made of squared tooled stone, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys tall with one bay on the left and three bays on the right. The older section on the right includes a central gabled porch with a 20th-century glazed door and 12-pane sash windows that have panelled shutters. The gables are coped, and there are stacks at the right end and on the ridge. The right side of the house displays similar windows.

To the left is the outbuilding, now serving as the estate office, which is also two storeys high with three narrow bays. It has a central half-glazed door that has been renewed, set in an old chamfered surround, and is flanked by triple 8-pane casements in enlarged openings. The upper windows have renewed glazing in their original openings. The left gable is coped and features a moulded kneeler. The left side of the outbuilding shows an external stone stair leading to a renewed door in an old opening. The rear of the farmhouse reveals twin 19th-century gabled wings.
