Description
Park Farmhouse and the attached farm building to the south-west date from around 1700, with later alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries, and additions from the 20th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed coal measures sandstone, featuring quoins, coped gables, moulded kneelers, and a brick ridge stack, with the house roof covered in Welsh slates and plain tiles, while the outbuilding has a stone slate roof.
The farmhouse has a south-east elevation with two storeys and three bays. The two bays at the north-east end form a double fronted house, while the remaining bay appears to have been an attached cottage. The principal doorway is set against the main stack and features a massive ashlar surround with a keyblock above the lintel, leading to a four-panelled door. On either side of the doorway are stacked two-light casement windows with glazing bars, set within flush stone frames.
The single bay cottage has stacked glazing bar sashes in flush stone surrounds, with a doorway at the south-west end that also has a four-panelled door, where the upper two panels are glazed. At the rear, a central wing has a ground floor two-light flush mullioned window with a projecting head that acts as a dripmould.
The attached outbuilding consists of five bays and two storeys, featuring four doorways with massive surrounds, four ground floor windows beneath plain lintels, four first floor windows, and a first floor taking-in door with a massive ashlar surround.
