Description

Nos. 10, 12, and 14 Rock Village are three cottages located in Rennington. The eastern part of No. 10 and No. 12 date from the late 18th century, while No. 14 was built in the mid-19th century, and the western part of No. 10 was added in the late 19th century. The cottages are constructed of rubble with roughly-tooled quoins and dressings on the older sections, and tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings on the 19th-century parts. The older section has a pantile roof, while the 19th-century sections are covered with Welsh slates.

The south elevation features one storey and an attic, arranged in four bays. The left part is No. 10, which has a boarded door and paired 12-pane sash windows to the right. The projecting gabled left end bay also has paired 12-pane sashes, with similar windows on the left return. The right-of-centre bay is No. 12, showcasing a half-glazed door in an old chamfered surround, paired renewed 12-pane sashes to the left, and paired 8-pane casements in a former chamfered doorway to the right. The taller right end bay is No. 14, which has a blocked doorway, paired renewed 12-pane sashes to the left, and a small window to the right. Above, there is a 12-pane Yorkshire sash in a gabled dormer, featuring a projecting sill on moulded brackets. The gables are coped, with those in the older central part having stepped-and-banded end stacks. There are also inserted double doors on the right return.

At the time of the survey, the cottages were in use as farm outbuildings.
