Description
The farmbuildings north of Fotherley Buildings Farmhouse date from the late 18th century, with an early 19th century gingang. They are constructed from coursed rubble with cut quoins and dressings, and the roofs are covered with stone slate, except for the Welsh slate on the gingang. The buildings are arranged around a yard that is open to the south.
The barn on the west side is two storeys high and has five bays. It features two boarded doors flanking a part-slatted window, along with slit vents in the end bays. The north range is divided into two parts; the two-storey section has boarded doors, an external stone stair leading to the granary, and a segmental-headed cart entrance. The single-storey section to the right includes a stable door flanked by windows.
There is a detached single-storey east range that appears plain from the yard but has a pair of integral pigsties at the rear. The rear of the barn shows an attached square gingang with a gabled roof and twin openings on each return, and to the right, there is a stone external stair leading to a stable door.
