Description
The barn and gingang at Low Fotherley date from the mid-18th century and the early 19th century. The structure is built from coursed rubble with stone slate roofing on the barn and Welsh slates on the gingang. The farmyard elevation features a double external stair, with an arch beneath that has a segmental brick arch and a dog kennel to the right. There are boarded doors on either side of the stair, with a third door beneath and two more at the top, all set in chamfered stone surrounds. A raking buttress is located to the right. The left side shows slit vents, while the right side has pigeon holes and an alighting band in the gable. The rear elevation includes an external stair leading to a stable door, a blocked door to the left, and a projecting square gingang with a hipped roof to the right.
