Description
East Lodge and the attached garden wall were built in the early 19th century. The structure is made of roughly-squared stone with dressings, featuring a porch and garden wall constructed from squared stone with rusticated quoins. The building has a slate roof and is one storey high with three bays.
The central projecting porch includes a nine-panel door beneath a five-pane fanlight, all set in a moulded ogee arch with a hoodmould. There is a six-pane casement window under a four-centred arch with a hoodmould above it. The porch is flanked by compound circular angle pilasters topped with finials and a gable finial. The flanking bays each have two-light mullioned windows, with each light containing an eight-pane sash and hoodmoulds above. To the left of the left window, there is a blocked quatrefoil opening.
The eaves feature a corbel table, and the gables have triangular-section coping, moulded kneelers, and finials. The attached garden wall to the left has flat coping that ramps down to a moulded finial, with rusticated quoins at each end and a large central cruciform loop with a raised stone surround.
