Description
The farm buildings to the north of Newton Fell Farmhouse date from around 1800. They are constructed of coursed rubble with stone dressings and feature Welsh slate roofs. The buildings are arranged around a yard that opens to the south.
The west range is two storeys and divided into two sections. The lower left part, which connects to the farmhouse, has a boarded door set in an irregular-block surround and two low four-pane windows directly beneath the eaves. The right part contains a stable door in an alternating-block surround. The north range also has two sections: the left part is two storeys with a boarded door in an alternating-block surround, two windows above, and three triplets of pigeon holes below the eaves. The single-storey right part features a four-bay arcade, with one bay blocked, supported by square stone piers carrying timber lintels. The single-storey east range includes a boarded door and a part-slatted window.
On the rear elevation of the west range, there is a circular gingang with two doorways, a blocked window, and a conical roof. To the left of the gingang is a 12-pane Yorkshire sash window with a pitching door above, and to the right is a boarded door in an alternating-block surround. The rear elevation of the north range shows the projecting gabled end of the west range to the right, which has a 12-pane Yorkshire sash and a slit vent above. To the left, there is a boarded door in an irregular-block surround with two windows above. The rear elevation of the east range features three boarded doors under timber lintels.
Inside, the gingang roof has a central post and radial struts to the principals, along with three levels of purlins.
