Description
Matfen Piers Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1840. It is constructed of dressed stone and features a Welsh slate roof. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys. The central section has two bays, with a single-storey lean-to on each side. There is a Tudor-arched door located in a gabled stone porch with kneelers on the right lean-to. The farmhouse has 2-light mullioned windows with 12-pane casements set in raised and chamfered surrounds. One of the lean-tos on the left has a similar window but has lost its small-paned casements. A band runs along the first floor.
The eaves and the eaves of the lean-tos are supported by rounded stone corbels. The roof is gabled with a partly projecting stone cornice and conjoined end stacks. At the rear, the windows are 16-pane Yorkshire sashes, and there is a similar end stack on the rear wing.
