Description

This milestone, located 80 metres south of Killerby Garths, dates from the 19th century. It is made of sandstone and painted white. The stone stands about 0.5 metres high and has a rounded top. On the south-west face, there is an incised sans-serif inscription painted black that reads "D7" indicating Darlington is 7 miles away. The south-east face features another inscription, "S4," which shows that Staindrop is 4 miles away.
