Description

This milestone, located 400 metres north of the junction with Pudding Hill Road, is likely from the 19th century. It is made of cut sandstone and is painted black on a white background. The milestone is a rectangular slab with an integral plinth, featuring painted inscriptions that read "STAINDROP 4 MILES" on the south side and "RICHMOND 11 MILES" on the north side. The height of the milestone is 0.60 metre.
