Mile-post. Late C19. Cast iron. 'triangular in plan. On left side, hand pointing right and "STAINDROP MILES". On right side, hand pointing left and "RICHMOND 9 MILES". On top, "RICHMOND HD" (Highways Division). Dates from after the Highways Act of 1888.
