Description

Mile-post at Richmond boundary, dating from the late 19th century, is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape. The left side features a hand pointing left with the inscription "RICHMOND H. D." arranged vertically, while the right side has a hand pointing right with the inscription "RICHMOND BOROUGH," also arranged vertically. The top of the mile-post is plain. This structure dates from after the Highways Act of 1888.
