Description

This is a milepost located approximately 10 metres east of the School House, dating from the late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape. On the left side, there is a hand pointing right with the inscription "RICHMOND 2 MILES," while the right side features a hand pointing left with the inscription "DARLINGTON 10 MILES." The top of the milepost reads "RICHMOND H D." This milepost was established after the Highways Act of 1888.
