Description
Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1747, constructed of roughcast rubble with a 20th-century concrete interlocking tile roof. It stands three storeys high and has three bays with a double-depth plan.
On the north elevation, there is a central entrance featuring leaved two-panel doors beneath a two-pane overlight, all framed by a mid-19th century doorcase with a modillion cornice. The windows have brick surrounds that are larger than the current openings and are fitted with flush wooden architraves. The ground and first floors feature sixteen-pane sash windows, while the second floor has six-pane sash windows, with the central window being blind and painted to match the wall. To the right of the central window, there is a plaque inscribed "I M 1747". The roof has shaped kneelers and ashlar coping, with an M-section design. There are corniced brick stacks at both ends and between the second and third bays.
At the rear, there is a tall landing window that has been partly blocked to create a fixed-light twelve-pane window. The right bay is two storeys high, featuring a first-floor double four-pane sash window set within a 18th-century architrave.
Inside, the farmhouse boasts a good staircase that rises the full height of the building, featuring column-on-vase turned balusters.
