Description
Hill House is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed sandstone and features a 20th-century concrete interlocking tile roof. The north elevation has two storeys and three bays, with quoins and openings that have deep lintels. The central entrance has a part-glazed door with an overlight above it. The windows are sash style, with glazing bars and projecting stone sills. The house has shaped kneelers and ashlar copings, along with brick stacks at the ends. Inside, the ground-floor room to the left includes a cupboard with fielded-panel doors next to a fireplace that has an 18th-century cast-iron grate, which was moved from the first floor, set within an ashlar surround.
