Description

The sundial, dated 1766 and created by P Carter, is located in the center of the walled kitchen garden at Forcett Park. It is made of ashlar sandstone and bronze. The sundial is positioned at the intersection of two main paths in the garden, featuring a circular ashlar plinth and a step that supports a short fluted Doric column. Atop the column is the bronze dial and gnomon, which includes engravings, a Latin inscription, and the signature "P CARTER FECIT 1766".
