Description

This is a mid-18th century house, significantly altered in the early and mid-19th century. The exterior is roughcast brick with roughcast sandstone additions to the rear, topped by a graduated green slate roof, and features brick stacks. The four-bay front, facing the garden, has a low plinth. The ground floor has elongated 18-pane sash windows, while the first floor has 12-pane sashes with raised sills. A two-bay return to the right has matching windows, and a three-bay addition to the rear includes two half dormers with nine-pane sashes. The left return also has similar windows, with a part-glazed double door in a raised, moulded surround, and a blank bay to the right.

The rear elevation is irregular, with a central six-panel door and an overlight of six panes. A tripartite sash window sits within a projecting gabled section to the left. The main block has a low-pitched hipped roof and two lateral stacks.

Inside, the fittings are from the early 19th century, including six-panel doors in fluted surrounds with angle paterae, window shutters, and a two-flight open-well staircase with a wreathed and ramped handrail on stick balusters.
