Description

The Mount is a house, likely dating from the late 18th century, with significant rebuilding and heightening at the rear in the late 20th century. The exterior is roughcast sandstone rubble with dressed quoins, and it has a pantiled roof with a brick stack. The house is two storeys high and originally had three bays. A low plinth runs along the base. The central bay on the ground floor now contains a 20th-century boarded door set in a raised surround. Flanking this door are renewed 12-pane sash windows. The first floor features a blank central bay and 12-pane horizontal sliding sashes on either side. The roof has a moderate pitch, with a rebuilt ridge stack on the right-hand side. The building is listed for its group value.
