Description
Boxwood is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with dressed quoins and features a moderately-pitched roof covered in renewed pantiles. The house has two rebuilt brick gable stacks and one rebuilt brick ridge stack. It stands two storeys high and has four bays.
The doorway, located in the second bay from the left, has a bolection-moulded surround, a projecting cornice, and a late 20th-century glazed door. The window openings were enlarged in the mid-19th century and have been slightly reduced in the late 20th century. They feature tooled-and-margined lintels, raised sills, and late 20th-century casements. There is a blocked window above the doorway, set in a keyed, oval surround. The house has plain, close eaves and low gable parapets, along with a 19th-century gabled wing at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
